06-11-2020 12:00 – 07-11-2020 13:00
Hey guys, heading back down to the Hawkesbury for another sesh of barge cleaning!  For those of you whove not been along to one of these in the past, basically we rock up, all the gear is provided for us and then we jump on board the barge and set sail to a few different spots along the hawkesbury and clean up some of the drift-in garbage that is otherwise generally in-accesible. :) At some point we'll stop and have lunch somewhere along the river, and depending on our guide (Johno) may even visit some pretty cool spots at the end of the day! The actual beach cleanup is on the 7th of November, with us all meeting at the Deerubbun boat ramp, Mooney Mooney, at 8:50am. However if youre keen, a few of us are gonna head down the day before and camp at a nearby riverside walk in site (only about 400m from the cars) and possibly do some day hikes etc neaby :)  If youre keen go ahead and sign up, we'll likely make a messanger chat closer to the date to discuss all the little details so if youve been to events before all g, if not well probably shoot you an email just to get permission/ details to add you into the chat.  See you all there! :)

Clean 4 shore are hosting another event in follow up to the recent Tomago barge cleanup!, but this time we get to paddle around some kayaks down at the Hawkesbury river. All the gear for the day will be provided, with there being two options for meetup; A) The first for people who can only come down for the day is to meet up at the Callghan campus at 7 am on the 21st then we carpool down.  B) The other option, some people are going down on thursday and camping the night nearby so if youre keen to tag along and have a tent then we can organise to get people down there the day before! :)  No matter which option you prefer just grab your ticket then maybe even shoot nusec a dm and well add you into the group chat and can sort it from there :)

Each Year, tonnes of waste gather in the Hunter Estuary from tides and illegal dumping. Tag along to help out local landcare remove a good chunk of the rubbish from our local waterways.  We meet the Hunter Local landcare group by the river and all jump on board their barge before setting sail down the river and stopping along the way to clean up the normally hard to get to places, all you have to bring is a hat, water bottle and clothes/ shoes that can get wet.  If youve got any more questions feel free to send Nusec a dm and well get back to you ASAP :)
