NUSEC is heading to Muogamarra Nature Reserve on Sunday 16th of September for a fun-filled day of bushwalking, birdwatching, picnicking and general outdoor goodness. We're hiring a 20-seater bus and NUSEC will be covering the entry fee into the reserve. The Reserve is a beautiful place to see wildflowers in spring and opens just SIX WEEKEND A YEAR to preserve the fragile ecosystems and Aboriginal cultural heritage.
During Spring the reserve transforms into a brilliant display of colour when wildflowers come into bloom. You’ll see waratahs, majestic angophoras, old-man banksias, pink boronias and delicate native orchids. The reserve is home to many native animals like echidnas, and birdwatchers might catch a glimpse of a wedge-tail eagle or an iconic lyrebird.
We'll be departing from the Design Bus Stop at 8am and all travelling together in the big bus. We should be back by 4:30pm.
Bring: Packed lunch, snacks, water, sunscreen, hat, binoculars if you feel like it?
Anyone is welcome but if you're not already a NUSEC member and would like to come along, it's only $2 to join, which you can do here - https://nusec.tidyhq.com/public/membership_levels
